A while back, a kid walked directly into my apartment and asked "who's the kid with the studio." When I reluctantly answered, he sat down in it and demanded that a mic be set up and a beat get played. This being totally out of the ordinary I obliged. He just let his voice go over whatever came his way. Giving me chills every few bars. He picked up an acoustic and played Deftones songs better than any acoustic Deftones performance I've heard.

toh just don't stop. our boy's back with another new demo straight off the laptop and into your ears. give this one a listen, it's a different step for him.. but i'm definitely feeling the vibe. more upbeat, more diverse, still dope. get with it.

note to labels out there: pick this album up. this dude is a workhorse with a sincerity in his music that's lacking in most of the "artists" on your collective rosters. if there's anyone you should listen to, it's we wore masks.. bears have better taste than any a&r rep out there.

Drummers More Fit Than Athletes

This is an interesting article from the BBC that my friend Chris Enriquez (drummer) posted on Myspace. It explains the details of a study that showed heart rate and oxegyn uptake levels of drummers compared with pro athletes. It also took into account that athletes don't play everynight like most rock bands on tour.

In Radiohead's new video for "House of Cards", no cameras or lights were used. Instead, 3D plotting technologies collected information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data.
